DISCOVER YOUR SENSITIVITY TO ODOUR

Lately, we have received lots of great feedback from Odour Study Day delegates. Specifically, delegates love the portion of the training spent in our UKAS-accredited odour testing samples laboratory. It’s a chance to experience the lab in action and gives an idea of your individual sensitivity to odour. Many find it extremely useful during their day-to-day role.

Often, Odour Study Day delegates revisit us later. This is for a complete odour sensitivity test which complies with European Standard BSEN13725.

As a result of your feedback, we altered the Odour Study Day offering to provide an even more effective service.

WHAT IS AN ODOUR SENSITIVITY TEST?

Good question! An odour sensitivity test is chiefly an assessment of your individual odour sensitivity to n-butanol. This is the reference material used for testing odour samples. The result allows you to compare your personal odour sensitivity with the population average. You will find this knowledge extremely helpful to effectively assess any odour complaints.

You may find an odour sensitivity test particularly useful if you are;

• responsible for evaluating odour and/or odour testing samples at your site(s)
• involved with complaints review and management
• an Air Quality or Environmental Consultant, or Environmental Health Officer

WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE ODOUR STUDY DAY?

In the first place, it’s easy! You’ll only need to take a single day from your working week to attend. Plus it’s cost effective, as there is a cost benefit in completing your two odour training activities together.

You’ll also come away armed with the facts about your personal sensitivity to odour, as well as a new suite of knowledge from the Odour Study Day training.

We provide a certificate with your results, which includes an explanation of what they mean. You’ll find this useful to demonstrate compliance with your odour management plans and IAQM odour surveys for the regulator or planning authority.
