PRINCIPAL / SENIOR AIR QUALITY CONSULTANT (ODOUR)

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Silsoe Odours. We are looking for a Principal or Senior Air Quality Consultant with a specific focus on odour to join our friendly team. Ideally, we are searching for the right person to join us on a full-time basis. However, we will consider requests for part-time hours. We offer flexible working as standard.

Principal Air Quality Consultant: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum plus benefits
Senior Air Quality Consultant: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum plus benefits
Location: Wrest Park, Bedfordshire (with regular UK travel)

ABOUT US

THE ROLE

The role is client-facing and will require travel across the UK, with the occasional overnight stay. You will work across various industry sectors, including waste and food production. In addition, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the practical side of assessment alongside colleagues. You will work closely with the existing Silsoe Odours team and build positive relationships with colleagues and clients.

On a day-to-day basis, you will conduct desk and field-based odour assessments, monitoring, modelling and investigations. You will also prepare detailed reports on all your findings. This exciting opportunity will give you the chance to play a key role in taking Silsoe Odours forward while making a real difference. You must ensure you carry out all work according to industry standards, specifically European Odour Standard BSEN13725:2022.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION

• A strong background in environmental consultancy.
• Excellent technical knowledge of air quality assessment techniques.
• BSc or MSc in a relevant discipline, such as environmental engineering or environmental science.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Experience in the field of odour consultancy is desirable but not essential.
• Practical on-site experience of air quality and/or odour sampling is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills.
